Oregon Real Estate is Still (Modestly) Appreciating

Angelo Mozilo of Countrywide Home Loans and Robert I. Toll of Toll Brothers have made bold statements that that the housing market is the worst it’s been since the Depression and we probably won’t recover next year either. Which I guess may be true if you live in Miami or Orlando.

But fear not if you live in Oregon! It’s not as fun to check your home’s appreciation this year as it was two years ago, but we’re still hanging tough here overall. And I suspect Angelo Mozilo knows this since Countrywide opened a large processing/underwriting center here in Lake Oswego last year, expecting that this would be a strong market.

But “Woe is the Housing Market” makes a juicier headline I suppose.
